This is an authentic Jules Pansu tapestry. Les Amours Pastorales French woven tapestry wall hanging features work from F. Boucher (1703-1770). Boucher had been the superintendent of the Manufacture of Gobelins since 1755. His cartoons were extremely popular. Boucher’s paintings are a faithful reflection of a gentle and refined time, entirely dedicated to love, libertinage and festivities. For him, nature is only a pretext for graceful compositions in which shepherds and shepherdesses indulge in love, flowers and music.
