La Foret de Marly is a Jules Pansu tapestry taken from a Flanders verdure from the early 17th century. At the beginning of this century, the considerable expansion of new sciences, such as botany, inspired Brussels weavers who created tapestries known as "verdures". They depicted forests, plants and flowers of the time.
