This glorious tapestry "Loggia Columns" shows a piece based on a grand tapestry from the 1600’s. The original is now in the Alcazar of Seville, Spain, originally a Moorish fort, which became the palace where King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella resided. King Ferdinand of Aragon (1452-1516) united all the regions of the Crown of Aragon to form a united Spain for the first time. This large tapestry is remarkable, as we see urns of flowers on a garden scene with ornate columns and arches, filled with architectural motifs, and decorated above with flower garlands. The border is ornate and shows column, floral and architectural motifs, to accompany this column scene.
