In the 18th century, tapestries were very often woven with those scenes. This hunting scene was created by the famous French animal painter, Jean-Baptiste Oudry. In a landscape surrounded by woods, horsemen prepare the pack of stag hounds to the sound of hunting horns. This tapestry represents a hunting halt in the Forest of Compiègne, north of Paris.
